David is a passionate, creative, and highly experienced educator and minister who served most recently as Interim Director of Elementary and Family Ministries at First Presbyterian in Atlanta. A Princeton Theological Seminary graduate and ordained Presbyterian minister, David has also served as Minister for Children, Youth, and Families at Plymouth Congregational Church in Minneapolis, chaplain and chair of the Religion Department at the Blair Academy, and teacher and faculty chair at The Waldorf School of Atlanta.
An avid outdoorsman, David is married to the Rev. Dr. Anna Carter Florence, who teaches homiletics at Columbia Theological Seminary. David and Anna have two sons, Caleb and Jonah.
